What We Believe

We hold the Bible as our highest standard.

The Pentecostals of Athens is a United Pentecostal Church that believes in vibrant worship, passionate preaching, and the operation of the Holy Spirit within our congregation.

We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy, and compassion. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe there is only one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4) He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38)

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. (Acts 2:4)

We embrace in the manifestation and operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

    Βασιζόμαστε στην πίστη ότι η βίβλος είναι ο εμπνευσμένος, αλάθαστος Λόγος του Θεού.

    Πιστεύουμε στην μεγάλη εντολή και προσπαθούμε να μοιραστούμε το Ευαγγέλιο του Ιησού Χριστού με αγάπη, έλεος και συμπόνια.(Κατά Ματθαίον 28:19)

    Πιστεύουμε ότι υπάρχει μόνο ένας Θεός (Δευτερονόμιον 6:4). Είναι ο δημιουργός του ουρανού και της γης, και όλων των ζωντανών. Έχει αποκαλύψει τον εαυτό Του στην ανθρωπότητα ως ο Πατέρας (Δημιουργός), ως ο Ιός (Σωτήρας), και ως το Άγιο Πνεύμα (Ενοικούν Πνεύμα).

    Πιστεύουμε στο βάπτισμα νερού, με την βύθιση στο Όνομα του Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού για την άφεση της αμαρτίας. Μέσου του βαπτίσματος, ταυτιζόμαστε με τον θάνατο, ταφή, και ανάσταση του Ιησού Χριστού. (Προς Ρωμαίους 6:3-6, Προς Κολλοσαίεις 2:11-14, Πράξεις 2:38)

    Πιστεύουμε στο βάπτισμα του Αγίου Πνεύματος, με το αρχικό σημάδι της ομιλίας γλωσσολαλίων. (Πράξεις 2:4)

    Υποδεχόμαστε την εκδήλωση και τη λειτουργία των χαρισμάτων του Πνεύματος. (Κατα Μάρκον 16:15-18, Πράξεις 5:16, Προς Κορινθίους Α’ 12:1-11)
